SMART Nexus

"When you're hunting elephants, don't get distracted chasing rabbits."

-T. Boone Pickens

SMART Nexus is a combination team management and task list site. This site was designed around the 'SMART' methodology developed at the Center for BrainHealth at the University of Texas at Dallas. SMART stands for Strategic Memory And and Reasoning Training. This teaches individuals to prioritize tasks in such a way that that works with natural brain functions to boost brain activity and improve thinking. Therefore, helping to improve overall brain health and make you smarter! This training has been applied to schools, business management, and veterans adjusting to civilian life.

SMART Nexus applies this training as a practical everyday way to implement SMART in daily activities. The user can create tasks and label them as either 'elephants' or 'rabbits'. When following the SMART steps, your task list should only have a total of two elephants. These are your most important items to focus on for the day. All other tasks are rabbits, and can be handled once your elephants have been completed. Users can also invite teammates and use SMART to work on large projects as a group. Users can see how their teammates are progresing based on the status of tasks in thier to-do list. Once a task has been marked as complete, the task is moved to the archive. Those with Admin privileges can create announcements, manage teams, and assign tasks.
